This piece depicts a mid-1800’s Apache elder in ceremonial attire. Buffalo trace refers to the path carved by migrating bison that was used by Native Americans and later became a vital land route used by settlers. Face and torso are plaster finished in iron with acid(s) to rust for patina. Breastplate is authentic coyote bone tube and stretched buckskin. Scale is 1:0 and weight is 55 lbs. The sculpture is mounted to a 24” X 36” frame with a turquoise leather mat. Buffalo Trace is available.
